About Me

Hello!  I am a 30-something female live in Seattle and am lightly obsessed with crafting.  While I have always liked crafts, for some reason this hobby has recently reached the level of obsession.  (Just ask my husband about my Amazon purchases and/or craft room…ahem.)  Nevertheless, my regular crafting adventures is just one of the reasons I wanted to create this blog, and I hope I can connect with and learn from other crafters out there!

Other than the fact that I love to create, here are a few things you should know about me:
  • Artichokes are my favorite food – I ADORE them, and have been known to pick a few up to eat a la carte when the urge strikes.  (My perfect artichoke recipe – boil in water for 30 minutes, and eat with melted butter, mayonnaise, and a drizzle of Brianna’s Real French Vinaigrette Dressing.  AMAZING every time!  Click here for additional details about my perfect artichoke recipe.)  You will definitely notice some artichoke themed posts here.
  • I have an Etsy Shop, as you may have noticed from my front page.  In addition to desk calendars and other home accessories, I have designed some matching beaded necklaces and earrings that benefit the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance – which brings me to the fact that...
  • I am a cancer survivor.  In 2008, I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, a cancer of the lymph nodes.  Thankfully, I am currently in remission, and am actually very grateful for the experiences I went through.  If you or someone you love is currently battling cancer, please reach out to me – I would love to hear your story and offer the support that I can.
  • I constantly feel like I should be doing more with my life.  I think this is one of the great tragedies of my generation -  we all grew up in the idealistic 80’s expecting to do “great things” with our life!  The sky is the limit!  There is nothing that we can’t accomplish if we put our mind to it!  And then…  let’s just say that reality is setting in quickly.  Regardless, we should all keep our heads up and be thankful for everything we do have.
  • The glass is half full.  I am an eternal optimist and always tend to look on the bright side, hence why I named my blog after the idea of silver linings.  ("Look for the Silver Lining"  was also a favorite song of my grandmother's.)  I believe that positive thinking really does work wonders - after all, you are the only one responsible for your happiness.
Otherwise, thank you for reading, and I hope you feel like you have gained something by coming here.

Cheers!
